Welcome to the free annual Self-Care and Creativity Networking Gathering! Join us for an experiential event to support your inner Helper.

About this event
Healing the Helper: Spirituality, Self-Care, and Creativity in Counseling
In the process of helping others, counselors become susceptible to compassion fatigue, vicarious trauma, and burnout.
This free workshop explores the cognitive, emotional, and spiritual experience of the counselor through spiritually inspired artworks and stories.
Counselors will create a renewed sense of personal and professional purpose through a spiritual self-care art experiential.
Learning objectives:
Participants will recognize the incidental side effects of helping others.
Participants will explore the cognitive, emotional, and spiritual experience of the helping professional.
Participants will understand the ethical responsibility of self-care, and create a renewed sense of purpose through a spiritual self-care art experiential. Counselors will use this knowledge to sustain personal well-being, professional responsibilities, and optimal client care.
Light Refreshments will be served. Event will be held from 2:00-3:00 pm. NJ association of Creativity in Counseling board meeting following the event 3:00-3:45. Come and network and share ideas for future workshops. No ceu's are offered for this event.

Join us for FREE Creative interventions mental health Happy Hour! Learn creative interventions for ages 4 and up.

This online Zoom meeting, hosted by New Jersey Association of Creativity in Counseling, should be loads of fun! Getting together to support one another, learn a few interventions for telehealth, and get creative! The activities can be used for telehealth or adapted for in person sessions as well. ( Important Notice: Please update all of your Zoom applications to version 5.0 or higher. After May 30, 2020, all Zoom applications on older versions will receive a forced upgrade when trying to join meetings as GCM Encryption will be fully enabled across the Zoom platform. )

4. Get to know your colleagues and feel supported remotely!

Having feelings of anger, pain, fear, anxiety, and sadness is uncomfortable for many clients. We all have strategies that we use to avoid uncomfortable feelings. As we help clients slow down and feel their feelings they may begin to move toward healing. Come join us for 1 hour to learn several creative strategies to work with children, families, and adults to create safety and fun when moving towards discomfort. (1 NBCC CE pending)
